Atlantic City Boardwalk Named Nation's Best
Two New Jersey boardwalks were ranked amongst the top ten in a recent National Geographic article. Atlantic City’s, which was America’s first boardwalk originally constructed to keep sand from being tracked into hotels, took the top spot. The article highlights the “flashy casinos” and “glitzy hotel towers” that take precedence on the boardwalk. Many bars, including the new Boardwalk Beer Garden and the many casino bars also call AC’s boardwalk home.
Wildwood’s boardwalk took the final spot in the top ten. Half the length of AC’s at two miles, the walk in Wildwood is marked by Doo-Wop architecture that the rest of the city is also known for as well as one of the fastest wooden roller coasters on the East Coast. A notable bar along the walk in Wildwood is the Boardwalk Bar and Grill.
Also included on the list are Coney Island in New York and Ocean City in Maryland. To view the full list check out the article online.
