Philly Beer Week Crosses the Bridge to New Jersey

Philly Beer Week begins with Opening Tap at the 23rd Street Armory on Friday, May 29, but not everyone needs to be in Philadelphia, or even Pennsylvania, to partake in the 10-day celebration. Beer lovers in New Jersey can join in at events held at two of the Garden State’s Uno Pizzeria & Grills.

Friday, May 29:
Belgian Night
Deptford, 11 AM–1 AM
Belgian beers dominate the taps. The lineup includes Kwak, St. Bernardus ABT.12, St. Bernardus Wit, Tripel Karmeliet and Lucifer. Pay as you go.

Dogfish Head Tap Invasion
Hamilton, 5 PM–1 AM
120Min IPA and World Wide Stout are just two of the Dogfish brews that will be on tap. This is a true tap takeover, as Dogfish will be pouring from at least 18 lines. Pay as you go.

Saturday, May 30:
Founders Beer Breakfast
Hamilton, 8–11 AM
Breakfast paired with five-ounce pours of Founders Brewing Co.’s KBS, CBS, Breakfast Stout, Backwoods Bastard and Blushing Monk. Tickets are $35, and space is limited.

Locals Night
Deptford, 11 AM–1 AM
New Jersey breweries Forgotten Boardwalk, Cape May Brewing Company, Flying Fish and Bolero Snort take over the taps. Pay as you go.

Sunday, May 31:
Can-B-Que
Deptford, 12–4 PM
The patio will be opened up for grilling and drinking. Great local and national canned craft beers will available. Pay as you go.

Founders KBS for a Kause
Hamilton, 11 AM–11 PM
Enjoy $15 glasses of KBS (first come, first served), and all profit goes to charity. Additional Founders beers will be on tap all day. Look for Backwoods Bastard, Devil Dancer, Old Curmudgeon 2014 and 2015, Dark Penance and many more. Pay as you go.

Monday, June 1:
NJ Vs. PA
Deptford, 11 AM–12 AM
A friendly competition between breweries on both sides of the bridge. Cape May Brewing, Free Will, Weyerbacher, Yards and Yuengling Brewery will take over the taps. Pay as you go.

Kane Brewing
Hamilton, 12 PM–12 AM
Kane Brewing invades the taps with Head High, Silent Nights, Overhead, Single Fin, Evening Bell, Morning Bell, Solitude, Parhelion and more. Pay as you go.

Tuesday, June 2:
Dogfish Head Tap Invasion
Deptford, 11 AM–12 AM
The taps will be flowing with Festina Peche, 60 Minute, 90 Minute, Chateau Jiahu, Palo Santo and more. Bottles of 120Min will also be available. Pay as you go.

Terrapin & Lagunitas Tap Takeover
Hamilton, 12 PM–12 AM
Terrapin Beer from Georgia and Lagunitas Brewing from Chicago take control of the taps. Terrapin brews on tap include French Toast Wake n Bake, Liquid Bliss in a cask, Black the New Wit, Eye Cubed and more. Lagunitas will be pouring Scare City 1 and 2, Hairy Eyeball, Night Time, Sucks, Cappuccino Stout, and more. Pay as you go.

Wednesday, June 3:
Weyerbacher Wednesday
Deptford
, 11 AM–12 AM
The spotlight is on Weyerbacher beers as six of its brews flow through the taps. Pay as you go.

Weyerbacher Tap Takeover with Natalie
Hamilton, 12 PM–12 AM
Ice cream from Princeton’s The Bent Spoon and Weyerbacher beer flights will be served up all day. Look for special brews like Sunday Morning Stout 2014 and 2015, Pariah, Cassiopeia, Tango, Dads Hat Tango, Althea, Blithering Idiot and many more. Pay as you go.

Thursday, June 4:
Southern Tier Tap Takeover
Deptford, 12 PM–12 AM
Southern Tier takes over all day long pouring Harvest, Goat Boy, Crème Brulee, Warlock, Unearthly, Grand Arbor and Tangier. Pay as you go.

Imports Only with B. United
Hamilton, 12 PM–12 AM
B. United International brings beers from around the globe to Uno Pizzeria. Glazen Toren Saison d'Erpe Mere, C.Drouin Pays d'Auge Cider, Del Borgo Caos, Brasserie a Vapeur Saison de Pipaix and more will be available all day. Pay as you go.

Friday, June 5:
Firkin Friday
Deptford, 11 AM–1 AM
Get your "firk on" with four different firkins on tap from Yards, Neshaminy Creek, Weyerbacher and Bolero Snort. Pay as you go.

Big Wood Annual Event
Hamilton, 12 PM–12 AM
Uno Pizzeria in Hamilton has been collecting special barrel aged beers all year. The time has finally arrived to tap these impressive brews. Barrel aged beers from Allagash Brewing, Dogfish Head, River Horse, Weyerbacher,  Lost Abbey, Great Divide, Lefthand and many more take over the taps. Pay as you go.

Saturday, June 6:
Kick the Keg
Deptford, 11 AM–12 AM
Anyone who kicks a keg gets to choose the next keg to be tapped based on a list of kegs on hand. Pay as you go.

NJ Vs. PA
Hamilton, 12 PM–12 AM
PA beers and NJ beers will go head to head. Beers from River Horse, Cape May, Spellbound, Carton, Troegs, Victory, Yards and Neshaminy Creek will all be on tap. Pay as you go.

Sunday, June 7:
Kick the Keg
Deptford, 11 AM–12 AM
Anyone who kicks a keg gets to choose the next keg to be tapped based on a list of kegs on hand. Pay as you go.

Drinker’s Choice Tap Takeover
Hamilton, 12 PM–12 AM
A few of Uno’s beer-loving friends chose the lineup from their personal favorites. Look for beers by Ballast Point, Boulder, Maine, Delirium, Firestone Walker, Unita and more. Pay as you go.

In addition to the events at the Deptford and Hamilton Uno Pizzeria & Grill’s, New Jersey boasts one more contribution to Philly Beer Week. Brotherly Suds 6, a saison collaboration between Earth Bread + Brewery, Flying Fish, Iron Hill Brewery, Nodding Had, Sly Fox, Troegs, Victory and Weyerbacher was brewed at Somerdale’s Flying Fish Brewery.
