A.C.'s Perfectly Innocent Amusement Co. Promises More Than Just Fun and Games

A.C.'s Perfectly Innocent Amusement Co. Promises More Than Just Fun and Games

Atlantic City has earned a bit of a notorious reputation, thanks largely to its involvement with Prohibition during the Roaring 20’s. Sure, Boardwalk Empire may be over, but A.C. locals are still proud of our Prohibition-past.

That rebellious attitude can be felt in Perfectly Innocent Amusement Co. on South Tennessee Avenue. Opened last July, Perfectly Innocent is Atlantic City’s newest beer and cocktail bar. It’s a throwback bar, with Prohibition-era cocktails, like the Cucumber Gimlet-- that’s gin, elderflower liqueur, and fresh lime, mint and cucumber-- and a classic Moscow Mule rounding out over 15 different drinks. Bartenders also serve up seasonal drinks to match the mood.

Then there’s the beer list which features rotating drafts, bottles and cans of 30-plus craft varieties including Left Hand, Founders and local breweries, like Carton. Included in the list are sharing sizes of seasonal varieties and large format bottled beers as well.

You can chase your drinks with bar bites from the menu of small and big plates. There’s no set style-- a Duck Confit Bahn Mi sandwich shares space with a Fluffernutter and fully-loaded tater tots-- but everything seems to pair perfectly with a drink or two, or three…

But the highlight of Perfectly Innocent Amusements would be the actual amusements-- the game center, that is, backing up into a sprawling horseshoe bar. Along with a pool and foosball table, the game area features a handful of vintage arcade games and pinball machines. It’s a great mix of easy-going fun and fantastic food and drinks, and a prime escape from the bright lights of the casino bars and clubs that it neighbors.
