Long Beach Island Chowderfest Returns for 26th Year, Oct. 5

by Erica Bauwens on Sep 26, 2014 in Event Listing

Now in it’s 26th year, Long Beach Island’s Chowderfest is one of the island’s biggest annual events. It draws out thousands of clam chowder fanatics to taste some of the East Coast’s best recipes, and includes one of the biggest annual competitions for red and white chowder varieties.

A $20 ticket gets you unlimited tastings for all the chowder you could want, but a $50 VIP ticket puts you in the center of competition. The VIP title earns you a t-shirt, early admission and the chance to vote for the competitors at the event.

This outdoor event features tents of more than just chowder, and what pairs better with a great soup than your favorite brew or local wine? You can wash down all of the chowders with a variety of domestics, draft beers or local wines of your choosing.

Tickets are on sale now for general admission and VIP, and they will sell out. This is one event that people begin planning for the day after last year’s festival ends. And with the food and drink pairings they are offering year-after-year, we don’t blame them!
