If you’re on Long Beach Island on a Thursday night, the Sea Shell in Beach Haven is the place to be.  “Thunder Thursdays,” as they’re called, run from 10pm until 2am every Thursday night.  Although there is a $10.00 cover charge, you will more than make up for that once you’re inside, for Thunder Thursdays boast $1.00 Coors Light cans, $1.00 SoCo Lime shots, $1.00 Kamikazes, and $2.00 Blue Moon cans.  Thunder Thursdays are huge on Long Beach Island, and it’s easy to meet new people, and not uncommon to run into people you may already know.  Thunder Thursdays also feature 103.5 KTU and Hit 106 DJ, DJ Prime.

If you’re a local and plan on going to the Sea Shell on Thursdays often, or on any night of the week, for that matter, then purchasing a VIP Card is a must.  For $60.00, you can purchase a Sea Shell VIP Card at the front desk, which will get you into the Sea Shell any night of the week for the rest of the year without a cover charge.  If you plan on brining friends with you often, you can get a Gold Card, which will get you and one friend in to the club.  Gold Cards cost $100.00.

Thursdays aren’t the only day of the week to check out the Sea Shell, though.  The Sea Shell features both an indoor bar area with a dance floor (and during the day and evening, a dining room), and a large outdoor, oceanfront tiki bar area.  There is something going on at the Sea Shell nearly every day during the summer.  Afternoon and evening entertainment is common, and with this, there are often drink specials.  Happy Hour at the tiki bar is from 4pm to 6pm, and usually includes $4 beers (the type of beer changes depending on the day) and $5 well drinks.  Entertainment at the Sea Shell ranges from local favorites such as Ted Hammock or Shorty Long and the Jersey Horns, to bands such as Nine Deez Night, a cover band focusing not only on nineties music, but nineties trivia, as well.

The Sea Shell is not just a bar and club, however.  The Sea Shell is also a motel.  Featuring 53 units, the Sea Shell has everything from one-bedroom suites to deluxe oceanfront rooms.  The motel often has various promotions.  Currently, their special deal is a room for the night of the 4^th of July for $150.00.  For Memorial Day weekend, their special promotion was “book two nights and stay the third night free.”  If you plan on visiting Long Beach Island and like to have a good time, The Sea Shell is the place be, and maybe even stay.
