Cider Takes Over Atlantic City at the First Annual Cider Social, Aug. 8

Cider has come a long way in the last few years, going from a super sweet alternative at the bar to having just as much variety as you can find in the craft beer world. And cider fans are celebrating with the First Annual Atlantic City Cider Social, a day-long event that brings some of the best ciders and meads from around the country together with great food, live music, and more.

The Cider Social will bring out a whopping 30 different varieties of ciders from across the world to Atlantic City’s Gardner's Basin, including popular brands like Angry Orchard and Magners and more obscure-- but equally as appealing-- varieties like Wyder’s, Jack’s, and Twisted Limb. It’s a day in the open air right on the bay, with live music from bands The White Cheddar BoysNew Sweden, and Wyland.

You can get access to classes from local mixologists and food demos to help pair your favorite cider with a meal at home. There will also be plenty of local flavor on hand from vendors like Vagabond Kitchen & Tap House, Tony Boloney’s, Sammy D’s, and more. And there will be food samplings and sponsorships from more local talent, including The Bacon Jams-- a spreadable bacon company-- and snack supplier Bacon Bites. You can also pass the time by bobbing for apples and playing other Americana-style yard games.

The day is split into two sessions, an earlier 12 to 4 PM option and a 7 to 11 PM evening session. Both events will have full access to all ciders and meads available, as well a complimentary sample glass and instant access to all classes, music, and games for $45 in advance or $50 at the door. There are also designated driver tickets and hotel availability, all through the Cider Social website.
