Atlantic City and summer go hand-in-hand. Of course, there’s the boardwalk, the ocean and beaches, but it also neighbors some of the area’s best local fishing ports.

To celebrate the season’s best catches, Phillips Seafood at The Pier Shops is running a special “Cook, Crack and Eat” series with two seafood classes and pairings. For $65 per class, guests get a lesson from Phillips Chef John Degges on everything from craft beer to crustaceans.

The first lesson, held on May 30 at 11:30 AM, features a full lesson in the infamous clam bake. Chef Degges reviews how to clean and select shellfish and seafood for the perfect clambake for two. Guests learn how to steam lobster, snow crab legs, shrimp, clams, mussels and potatoes and corn all in one easy pot and can even get a lesson in what beers or drinks to pair with the final product.

The second class, on June 20 at 11:30 AM, breaks out the BBQ for a course in crustacean grilling. Degges instructs on how to grill seafood to perfection, and he includes a few tips on grilling other non-seafood fare as well. He rounds out the lesson with a selection of sangria recipes to match your meal.

Interested guests can register now by calling 609-348-2273 or checking out the Phillips Seafood website.
