Festive Fall Cocktails at the Jersey Shore

There’s just something about a really great autumnal drink that truly elevates the season. Sure, the leaves may be almost down, and some days still feel like the dog days of summer, but fall is in full swing, and we’re drinking to celebrate.

Check out our list of great fall cocktails that only enhance the fall atmosphere. From warm flavors and lots of spice to deep, fruity accompaniments, these drinks will leave you searching for your favorite sweater ASAP.

Angry Apple Pie at The Old Causeway:
Strong cider is good enough on it’s own during the fall, but this cocktail gives it a serious kick with a shot of Fireball and a house cinnamon brown sugar whiskey. It’s a drink that’s made to warm you up on those chilly fall evenings. (1201 E Bay Ave., Manahawkin; 609-488-1327)

Pumpkin Spice Martini at O’Donnell’s Pour House:
What kind of fall drink round-up would this be without the always-popular pumpkin martini? O’Donnell’s variety is only available during the fall, and blends the perfect amount of pumpkin flavor with spice from cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. (3909 Landis Ave., Sea Isle City; 609-263-5600)

Chocolate Covered Pretzel at The Windrift:
From pretzel buns on burgers to the iconic Oktoberfest beers and pretzel necklaces, the pretzel has cemented itself as a fall snack staple. This cocktail takes a sweet direction with Pinnacle whipped cream vodka, Frangelico and Meletti Cioccolato liqueur, served in a salt-rimmed glass for that salty bite that makes pretzels so irresistible. (105 80th St., Avalon; 800-453-7438)

The Boiler at The Boiler Room:
Brown liquors and the fall season just seem to go hand-in-hand. The Boiler Room makes their namesake drink with a healthy dose of bourbon, apple pucker and a splash of cranberry juice to create a supremely festive, delightfully simple cocktail. (200 Congress Pl., Cape May; 609-884-6553)

Caramel Apple at The Pier House:
Caramel apples: a favorite fall childhood treat that only lead to a trip to the dentist as you get older. The Pier House skips the sticky caramel and instead blends sour apple with Grey Goose vodka and lime juice for a tangy, slightly sour take on the treat you know and love. (1327 Beach Ave., Cape May; 609-898-0300)

Iron Root at The Iron Room:
This drink features deep, dark flavors that remind us of the colors of fall. Star with New Holland’s wheat whiskey, and add root liqueur, Coke and fresh muddled cherries, then finish everything off with spicy, real maple syrup for a rustic drink that will warm you right up. (648 N Albany Ave., Atlantic City; 609-348-6400)

Pomegranate Sidecar at The Metropolitan:
Embrace pomegranate season without battling that mystery fruit with your own hands. The Metropolitan blends muddled pomegranate and fresh pomegranate juice with Hennessy and Grand Marnier, then mixes it with a house-made simple syrup and sour mix and garnishes the drink with a fresh orange wedge and cherry. (1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City; 609-317-7713)
