Brews By the Bay Celebrates Both Sides of the Bay in Cape May and Lewes, Sept 6

The Cape May-Lewes Ferry has been our favorite way to get from Delaware to New Jersey in search of great craft beer for years. And we’re not alone. In fact, so many people have been hopping on board the ferry to try the local fare that the local brewers guilds have decided to celebrate with an all-day beer festival.

The 2014 Brews by the Bay, sponsored by both the Garden State and Delaware Craft Brewers Guilds, takes guests on a trip across the Delaware Bay with the help of almost 20 New Jersey and Delaware craft breweries. Starting at the Cape May terminal, you can taste your way across the Garden State with samples from New Jersey breweries like:

Glasstown Brewing Company
Cricket Hill Brewery
Flying Fish Brewing Company
Cape May Brewery

Then hop on board the ferry and take a trip to Delaware, where you can taste beers from local brewers like:

Dogfish Head
3rd Wave Brewing Company
Mispillion River Brewing
Argilla Brewing Company

Be ready for a full four hours on each side of the ferry, with plenty of time to try all the breweries pouring samples. If a full day of drinking isn’t in the cards, you have the option to buy tickets for either side. Or you can buy a ticket for both sides at a fraction of the price, which also comes with a round trip ticket on the ferry. Tickets are available for all ages, and those who choose not to partake in the beer can enjoy live music on both sides of the ferry as well as some tasty food.
